From Viviana Aaron's Kitchen

1 pound of potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 onion, quartered
¾ cup of chickpeas
6 eggs
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Salt and pepper to taste
1 meat loaf (recipe below)
1 rice stuffing (recipe below)
 

Place potatoes, onion, chickpeas and spices in crock pot.  Add spices and mix until spices are evenly distributed.  Place eggs on top of potatoes.  Place the meat loaf and rice stuffing, wrapped in the cheesecloth, on top of the eggs.  Cover with water and cook overnight on low heat.

Meat Loaf
 
1 pound ground beef
1 egg, lightly beaten
4 tablespoons parsley
5 tablespoons bread crumbs or matzah meal
½ teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ginger
3 tablespoons oil
Pepper to taste
 

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and work to a soft paste with your hand.  Shape into a long fat roll, and wrap in thin cheesecloth.  Place in crockpot on top of eggs.

Rice Stuffing
 
1 ¼ cups long grain rice
1 onion chopped
3 tablespoons raisins        
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon saffron
A pinch of ginger
3 tablespoons oil
1 egg lightly beaten 
 

Mix all the ingredients together, put them in a muslin or cheesecloth, and tie up the ends, leaving enough room for the rice to expand.  Put on top of the eggs and cook in cholent.
