Rikki’s Challah Friends Recipe

1 5 lb. bag of flour
3 tablespoon dried yeast
4 cups warm water
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoon salt
1 cup oil
4 eggs
  1. Dissolve yeast in water with a tablespoon if the sugar.
  2. Empty 3/4 of the bag of flour into a large bowl.
  3. Add in salt and mix well.
  4. Pour in water/yeast mixture into flour, followed by eggs, sugar and oil begin mixing and kneading.
  5. Knead very well adding flour as needed. Dough can be a little sticky.
  6. Place in bowl shmear with drops from your oil cup.
  7. Cover bowl with a clean cloth and let rise for an hour and a half to two hours.
  8. Shape challot cover and let rise 45 minutes.
  9. Brush with egg wash and bake in a preheated 350 degree over for 30-40 minutes until light golden brown
